Absences
Absences
By law, no child should be absent from school without sufficient reason, and we need to allocate all absences a code that is reported to the Ministry of Education eg. sickness, family reasons or other. There are many ways to report absences - the SkoolLoop app, email, Facebook message or call the school office by 9:00 am. Irregular attendance can be a significant cause of learning difficulty at all levels.
NB: While notifying the school that your child is absent is important, it does not release us from our responsibility to follow up (via the Truancy Service) unjustified absences. The Principal (or agent) will contact you if your child’s attendance levels are a concern. If no noticeable improvement occurs, the school will use the services of the Truancy Officer.

We use the MyKindo app for online payments of school accounts, trips, sporting events and Wednesday lunches. Please create a Kindo account using the same email address we have on file. https://kindo.co.nz/families/. Any questions, please ask at the office, they are happy to show you how.

Every Wednesday we have lunches available to order from your MyKindo account. These are supplied and delivered by Katsu Sushi Hokitika and Hokitika New World. Please ask the office for details.
